A few months ago, there were reports that the new Spider-Man is not going to be white which means that instead of Peter Parker, a different character may appear.
"Spider-Man is going to be most likely black," Jeff Sneider of The Wrap told Meet The Movie Press.
"But there is a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure not white."
According to the website, the new web-slinging superhero could be Miles Morales, the Black Hispanic teenager who took over Peter Parker's role after his death.
The reports were based on the leaked emails from Sony, but there's no confirmation yet from the studio about the news. In case the rumors are true, many fans are wondering who would portray the role of Miles Morales.
One of the top candidates is Tyler James Williams, who became famous for playing the lead character in "Everybody Hates Chris." He can now be seen as Noah in the smash hit TV series "The Walking Dead."
During an interview at the MCM Comic Con in London, the 22-year-old actor revealed how much he wanted to star in the "Spider-Man" reboot from Marvel.
"I kind of followed the Miles Morales character quite a bit - my brother really did, so he suggested if it goes that way it could work," Williams told Flicks In The City (via Yahoo UK). "And I'm open to the idea, I am." Tyler James also explained that he isn't trying to create a buzz so that he can get the role in the remake because that's what some actors do to get noticed.
"I'm not like starting campaigns for it because I trust Marvel. I've read for them before. So I trust what their decisions will be," the former child star said. "But yeah, I'd love to do it. I would absolutely love to do it. I think there are a few names in the hat that absolutely do make sense. Kind of who is the best for it. I'd be stoked to do it."
Tyler James Williams also admitted that he read a part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before and according to the website, it could most probably be Sam Wilson or also known as Falcon in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
As of today, Marvel and Sony haven't confirmed yet if Miles Morales will appear in the "Spider-Man" remake but there's a huge chance that Peter Parker will appear as they continue the hunt for a young teenage actor.
