All eyes are on Asa Butterfield right now as he is currently the top candidate for the lead role in the new "Spider-Man" movie.
Latino Review reported that some sources believe that the 18-year-old actor already got the role of Peter Parker.
"Marvel had liked him since day one," their sources revealed.
Fanboy journalist Umberto Gonzales also confirmed the latest news on Instagram, He shared a fan-made poster of "Captain America: Civil War" that featured the young actor as the web-slinging superhero.
"Another hot #CivilWar poster featuring Asa Butterfield as SPIDER-MAN!" he wrote.
Marvel has not yet confirmed nor denied the rumors on the "Spider-Man" casting but there are other people who are convinced that Asa is the new Peter Parker. However, not many people know that before the "Ender's Game" star was considered for the role, a son of a popular actor was offered the lead part.
During an exclusive interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer, Norman Reedus revealed that his son was asked to audition for "Spider-Man." "The Walking Dead" star dated Helena Christensen for five years, but their relationship ended in 2003. He has a 15-year-old son named Mingus from the 46-year-old supermodel.
"We got this call because they are going to make a new 'Spider-Man,' and he's like 14 or 15. They asked, 'Would Mingus want to audition for Spider-Man?' He's had a couple of these calls, and he always said no to all of them," the 46-year-old actor told PDI.
"I asked him, 'Do you want to audition?' He asked, 'What part?' I said, 'I think you'd be Spider-Man,' He said, 'No, I don't want to ruin my life.' I went, 'What do you mean?' He said, 'I don't want to be famous,'" Reedus added. "He's got such a good head on his shoulders. I'm learning from him more than he's learning from me. He's my role model!"
Since Norman Reedus' son Mingus turned down the "Spider-Man" audition, then Asa Butterfield may most likely become the next Peter Parker since Marvel is already preparing for "Captain America: Civil War" where the new superhero will debut.
