Abrakadoodle Welcomes New Owners to Austin, TX

| By

Abrakadoodle Remarkable Art Education welcomes Jenny and Harald Hofmann - both residents of Austin for more than a decade, who searched the internet for a business opportunity that combines their two loves: art and children.

Jenny was born and raised in France, and Harald was born and raised in Germany. The artistically inclined couple met and married in Austin, and they have four-year old twins - a boy and a girl. With a bachelor's degree in interior design and a master's degree in clinical social work with a focus on children from the University of Texas-Austin, Jenny brings her lifetime love of creativity and art to this business, along with expertise in promoting children's well being. Harald is active in real estate in Austin and also enjoys rugby and cooking.

"We are delighted to welcome Jenny and Harald to our award-winning Abrakadoodle franchise system," said Rosemarie Hartnett, CFE, President and Co-Founder of Abrakadoodle, Inc. "Jenny and Harald bring a passion for art and children in addition to business savvy, which I am confident will help ensure their tremendous success in a community that embraces the arts and art programs that cultivates creativity."

"It's a dream come true for me," Jenny remarked. "I am very enthusiastic to continue delivering Abrakadoodle-Austin's popular art programs throughout the community and to further expand with Abrakadoodle's well-regarded whole art programs designed for integration in charter schools, as well as to roll out Abrakadoodle's Twoosy Doodlers program at community venues that serve children and families."

Come and meet the new Abrakadoodle-Austin owners at Austin Kiddie Limits at Zilker Park October 12-14 between the hours of 11 am and 4:30 pm! Kids 10 and under are free with a ticket-holding adult. Abrakadoodle will be hosting fun art activities for kids of all ages, including wet and wild action painting in the style of Jackson Pollock, as well as art booths featuring age-specific art activities. Abrakadoodle was the first American franchise company to bring a comprehensive, standards-based art education program to children in the U.S. More than just a drawing program, Abrakadoodle embraces art in its broadest scope - from public art to all types of painting, sculpture, animation, paper and fabric art, digital photography and more.

Abrakadoodle students develop a fine arts vocabulary as they learn about the styles and techniques of such artists as Michelangelo, Monet, Picasso, Ansel Adams, as well as contemporary artists through its Artist of Distinction program. Abrakadoodle students use an abundance of creative materials (bamboo brushes, sculpting materials, fabric, watercolor, acrylics, and more) to explore the visual arts. Students often take home framed, labeled original creations that extend the learning at home, as well as boost self-confidence. Abrakadoodle classes employ a "process art" methodology.

Abrakadoodleprograms not only inspire a child's imagination, but they also build motor, language and cognitive skills. Abrakadoodle students develop an appreciation for art and a sense of craftsmanship. Research suggests that getting an early start in the arts can make a real difference in the lives of children, not only in terms of increased academic achievement but also greater problem solving, leadership capabilities, and confidence.
