Before Jason Momoa wears his underwater suit for "Aquaman," the actor may put on a Western outfit for "The Magnificent Seven."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Game of Thrones" heartthrob is in negotiations to join the star-studded cast of MGM's remake of the Akira Kurosawa classic film.

If he accepts the project, Jason will be joining Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Luke Grimes, Haley Bennett, and Wagner Moura. The remake will be written by Nic Pizzolatto and John Lee Hancock. The executive producers of "The Magnificent Seven" are Walter Mirisch and Antoine Fuqua and the producers are Todd Black and Roger Birnbaum.

The website revealed that the story of the remake kicks off when Bennett's character hires a group of gunslingers to protect her town from the bandits. There were reports that the "Aquaman" actor will play as one of the seven gunslingers, but there's also a chance that he could be the main villain since that role is still open.

Many fans are wondering who will play who in "The Magnificent Seven" remake. The original movie featured some of the hottest actors during that time including Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, and Robert Vaughn. Movie Pilot made a list of the new actors' possible roles based on their resemblance to the original cast.

According to the website, Chris Pratt could star as Vin Tanner (Steve McQueen), Denzel Washington as Chris Larabee Adams (Yul Brenner), Ethan Hawke as Lee Basset (Robert Vaughn), Luke Grimes as Chico Valdez (Horst Buchholz) and Vincent D'Onofrio as Calvera (Eli Wallach).

Apart from Jason Momoa, there were also reports that Lee Byung-hun will be joining the star-studded cast of "The Magnificent Seven." According to Deadline, the South Korean superstar will play the role of Billy Rocks in the remake. The 44-year-old actor has already appeared in several Hollywood movies including the two "G.I. Joe" movies and "Red."

Lisa Bonet's husband, on the other hand, will be appearing next in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" before he goes into the wild west if he accepts the role in "The Magnificent Seven" remake.
