To raise breast cancer awareness, three Carson City Dutch Bros.employees and owner Andy Head have promised to publicly shave their heads once $1K is raised for breast cancer research.
Dutch Bros. Carson City, located at 1449 S. Carson St., started the fundraiser today and has already collected $900 in donations from amazing customers who not only want to help the cause but see the four broistas go bald!
Owner Andy Head and employees Ryan Livermore, Nathan Bartosz and Casley Matthews will be sacrificing their locks for the cause.
Jill Head, wife to Andy and Dutch Bros. co-owner, said, "They were adamant. They really wanted to get involved and do this to help the cause."
The official head-shaving ceremony will take place tomorrow, October 2nd, in the parking lot of the Dutch Bros. location. A Dutch Bros. customer who is a hair stylist has offered to do the honors. (A press release will follow with the announcement of the exact time for the ceremony.)
In addition, the entire month of October, Dutch Bros. Coffee will be selling pink "Be Aware" travel mugs and donating proceeds to breast cancer screenings for women who are uninsured or under-insured Mugs cost $12 and include your Dutch Bros. drink of choice.
Regular screenings are instrumental in detecting breast cancer early on, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms.
Dutch Bros. Coffee donated $1 million in 2011 to nonprofit organizations and causes.
