Rita's Italian Ice, the nation's largest Italian Ice concept with over 625 outlets in 19 states, announced today it has taken the number one spot on Zagat's annual survey.
Zagat, which was acquired by Google last year, is behind the popular restaurant review books known as the "burgundy bible," surveyed more than 10,500 diners about 274 restaurant chains and announced the results of its annual Fast-Food Survey last week. Rita's Italian Ice was voted number one in the "quick refreshment" category.
With its motto, "Ice, Custard, Happiness", Rita's ranked first on the annual survey, followed by Ben & Jerry's, Haagen Daz, Peet's Coffee & Tea and Culver's as the best "Quick Refreshment".
"This Zagat ranking is significant and proves that Rita's is dedicated to serving up a big dose of happiness with our freshly made, delicious custom treats," said Jonathan Fornaci, chief executive officer of Rita's Franchise Company. "We would like to thank all our friends and fans who voted for us and we promise to continue to provide the best quick refreshments!"
