Over the past months, talks of Idris Elba becoming the new James Bond were rampant.
There are many people campaigning to see the seasoned British star to become the new Agent 007 which has always been portrayed by Caucasians.
Idris Elba-James Bond talks have become a worldwide race issue as some people want to keep the renowned fictional MI6 agent "white."
While some people don't want a "black" James Bond, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the latest installment of the film franchise think it would be a great idea to see Idris Elba portray the role.
"I think he'd make a great Bond," Wilson replied instantaneously when asked if Idris Elba-James Bond movie is a good idea.
"I always say, it's like asking a woman who's going up the aisle on her wedding day who her next husband is going to be," Broccoli joked.
The hindrance about possible Idris-Elba starrer James Bond film is the fact that Daniel Craig still owns the role. In fact, a new installment of James Bond titled "Spectre" is about to be released next year and the trailer being released just a few days ago.
"You know, Daniel Craig is Bond, and I don't want to think about what happens when he goes. But I'm a huge fan of Idris -- we all are. He's a great actor, and he could do anything. So ask me when we're looking for a new Bond -- which hopefully won't be for a long time."
Just last week, Roger Moore, the fourth actor to play James Bond on film, was roasted for his comments regarding the issue of having an Africa or half African Agent 007. His comments though is not directly related to the Idris Elba-James Bond issue.
"A few years ago, I said that Cuba Gooding Jr. would make an excellent Bond, but it was a joke! Although James may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman, and an Irishman, I think he should be 'English-English'... it's an interesting idea, but unrealistic," Moore said in an interview with French Magazine Paris Match.
