Ryanair, the Ireland-based low-cost airline operating throughout Europe, is planning to launch cheap transatlantic flights by the year 2020, CNN reports.
"European consumers want lower cost travel to the U.S.A. and the same for Americans coming to Europe," the company's head of communications Robin Kiely told the site. "We see it as a logical development in the European market."
Ryanair is in the process of finalizing a deal with manufactures over the construction of long-haul carriers, which would allow the company to establish bases in 14 cities across the United States.
The company is also expected to be working with Boeing and Airbus on the development of those carriers .
The prices of tickets are set to begin at $15 but are also expected to include passenger taxes. Norwegian Air, another low-cost airline, is also making plans to expand into the United States.
Ryanair was founded in 1985 and is comprised of approximately 9,500 employees.
