Miles Teller, who stars as Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, in the new "Fantastic Four" revealed that there will be some humor in the reboot.
While promoting "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" at the SXSW Film Festival, the 28-year-old actor shared some spoilers about his upcoming movie including the funny factor of it.
"You should have some laughs in there. You want to see some enjoyment and The Thing better say 'it's clobbering time,'" he said as reported by MTV.
The star of "That Awkward Moment" also revealed that the producers asked him not to read every "Fantastic Four" Marvel comic because they want to put their own spin to it.
"We were looking to kind of put our stamp on it," Miles Teller said. "We were looking to pay respect to the history of the characters but to bring them up to date."
It was previously reported that director Josh Trank wanted to steer clear away from the cartoonish filming style that was shown in previous "Fantastic Four" films.
"There's the opportunity to make something that is challenging and tragic and dramatic. The opportunity is right there in the material," he told IGN. "We'd rather steer it in that direction as opposed to just embracing a tone that comes right off the page," Trank explained.
Meanwhile, there have been rumors coming out that a crossover movie between "Fantastic Four" and "X-Men" could happen soon.
Miles Teller didn't confirm or deny that Marvel will be working on it, but he teased how it would be like to hang out with Logan, played by Hugh Jackman in the "X-Men" and "Wolverine" film series.
"I would love to kick it with Wolverine," he said. "I don't know what we would talk about, but..."
Apart from Miles Teller, "Fantastic Four" will also star Kate Mara, Jaime Bell, Toby Kebbell and Michael B. Jordan. The reboot will be released in Aug. 7, 2015.
