Apple has announced that it will construct a global operations command center based in Mesa, Ariz. that promises a $2 billion investment over the course of 30 years, USA Today reports.
"Its decision to bring this new facility to Mesa is a huge win for Arizona and a high testament to our business-friendly climate and talented workforce," Ariz. Gov. Doug Ducey said in a statement, according to the newspaper.
"This expansion will bring a significant economic investment, and propel Arizona's position as one of the best states in the nation in which to do business."
The new command center serves as a complement to the company's increased focused on the international market, offering technical support for customers around the world. The facility will provide 150 new full-time jobs for prospective Apple employees.
The global operations command center will be located in the same location used by GT Advanced Technologies, a company that filed for bankruptcy and closed down last year.
Additionally, Apple's new location will operate using solar power.
"The iCloud will be hovering right over Mesa, Arizona," Mesa Mayor John Giles said, according to USA Today.
"I couldn't imagine a better ending to this story."
Apple also recently announced that it will sell $5 billion of the company's bonds to private investors.
