"The Dark Knight Rises": Celebrities Voice Shock, Sadness over James Holmes' Colorado Screening Killings

The world spoke out regarding the massacre that took place on Thursday evening, where James Holmes reported shot 12 people and injured 50 during a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises."

Numerous celebrities took to the internet to offer their condolences and shock that the killings took place in Aurora, Colo., on Thursday night.

Actor Chris Evans of "The Avengers" and "Captain America" fame said on his Twitter: "what the hell is happening?? my heart is completely shattered. all of my thoughts and prayers are with the people of aurora."

Olivia Munn of "Magic Mike" said on her Twitter, "My sincerest condolences to the victims and families in Colorado. So sad, so mindless;" producer and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons wrote on his Twitter: "Praying for the people of Aurora, Colorado."

"Glee" actor Harry Shum Jr.: "My heart goes out to all the victims in Colorado. This is just insane."

Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams: "In shock reading about what happened at the theater in Aurora, CO... Could have been any of us. My heart is heavy for everyone affected."

Basketball player LeBron James: "Its just not fair that innocent people have to lose their lives over someone's selfish stupidity acts! My stomach is hurting over this."

Warner Bros. commented on the tragedy, as well as President Barack Obama, stating, "All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers as they confront the loss of family, friends, and neighbors, and we must stand together with them in the challenging hours and days to come."

Warner Bros was set to host a premiere for "The Dark Knight Rises" in Paris on Friday, with cast and director Christopher Nolan to attend, but canceled due to the killings as a sign of respect.
