Amazon Receives Over 10 Million Prime Subscribers Despite Recent Hack Attacks

Amazon has reported that over 10 million people have enlisted for Prime subscription service for the first time-the news comes as hacker group Anonymous released thousands of the site's user passwords and other sensitive information.

Amazon released a statement on Friday divulging information about the rise in Prime subscriptions, adding that over 60 percent of customers bought items using their mobile devices, USA Today reports. It was also mentioned that holiday sales in the United States made via the mobile phone application doubled this year.

As for the hacking, the company has not released an official statement addressing the recent attack.

The stolen account information was shared on a GhostBin file that also listed information customer information for Walmart, Playstation Network, Xbox Live, Twitch, Origin, Hulu Plus, Dell and Shutterstock.

Customers for all of the abovementioned have been warned and asked to change their account information.

Shares for Amazon have increased by over one percent since morning trading closed.
