Frozen yogurt chain Menchie's announced the opening of its 200th store opening worldwide on Thursday, and plans to open 300 more locations by 2013.
Menchie's, one of the world's largest self-serve frozen yogurt franchises, will have its 200th store opening in Adelaide in southern Australia, at the Westfield Marion Centre, said a press release issued by Menchie's on Tuesday. Additionally, the company plans to have 300 overall stores opened by the end of 2012, and have an overall number of 500 fast-food restaurants available worldwide in 2013.
"Opening our 200th store is a testament to our 'we make you smile' philosophy, and it's our franchisees and team members who made this happen and propelled the emotional connection that Menchie's has with communities around the world," Amit Kleinberger, CEO of Menchie's Global Headquarters, stated for the press release. "We pride ourselves in being the friendliest place on Earth, and our franchisees and team members have made millions of Menchie's fans smile across the globe."
Menchie's, which originated in California, is available in 31 states across the nation and six countries worldwide, noted the press release. About 10 Menchie's stores are opened a month on average.

Our guests often tell us that they visit Menchie's not only for the great product but more importantly, because of our values and our commitment to community. They believe in our philosophy of making the world a better place," Kleinberger continued for the press release.
Menchie's provides over 100 flavors of yogurt for consumers, said the press release, in a self-serve station. Among the flavors include cake batter, pomegranate tart, chocolate silk, and vanilla snow, listed the press release, all of which can be topped from a variety of 70 toppings, like fresh fruits, granolas, nuts, candies, and hot fudge.
