McAlister's Deli announced that they will host a "Free Tea Day" on July 26, where they expect to serve over 225,000 glasses of free sweet tea at their restaurants throughout the United States.
McAlister's Deli will be giving away a free 32-ounce cup of their signature McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea, without the need of purchase, on Thursday, July 26, at their over 300 stores located in 22 states across the country, said a press release issued by the brand on Thursday. This tradition began three years ago and has been a popular staple since.
"You don't expect to get anything for free these days, but on July 26th at McAlister's Deli, all our guests will get a free glass of McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea," McAlister's Deli President and CEO Frank Paci stated for the press release. "Last year on Free Tea Day, we shared over 225,000 glasses of tea with our guests, and this year we expect to top that. It's just a small way for us to show our customers we appreciate their loyalty throughout the year."
McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea is hand-made several times a day at the restaurants to ensure freshness, noted the press release, and has been available to consumers for 23 years. It is made from a rainforest-certified black tea blend with filtered water and pure cane sugar, listed the press release, for high quality taste for its consumers.
This month's "Free Tea Day" will be cross-promoted by McAlister's Deli through in-store advertisements and social media outlets, including the brand's official Facebook and Twitter pages, noted the press release. Photo contests and a "Sweet Tea of the Week" activity have been set up to get customers more involved in the annual celebration to quench their thirst with the sweet tea.
In addition to the sweet tea, McAlister's Deli offers sandwiches, soups, salads, and desserts for dining, listed the press release, as well as deli, vegetable, cheese and fruit trays, breakfast options, and boxed lunches.
