Orphan Black Star Tatiana Maslany Will Have Tough Time In Quest For Outstanding Drama Actress In SAG Awards

| By

Orphan Black Season 3 release date is not happening next month but there's one thing related to the show why you need to feel excited about January. Make sure you are on TV on January 25 and throw your solid support for Tatiana Maslany as the Canadian actress is nominated for the category Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

The SAG Awards competition is a bit tough though for the Orphan Black star who plays multiple characters in the show. Maslany will go up against Claire Danes of Homeland, Viola Davis of How to Get Away with Murder, Julianna Marguilles of The Good Wide, Maggie Smith of Downtown Abbey and Robin Wright of House of Cards. When Tatiana was nominated for Best Actress in Golden Globe in 2013, she lost to Robin Wright. She pretty much has the same foes this year.

Another disadvantage for Tatiana Maslany in this award is that most of her opponents are more active as their shows aired in the fall while Orphan Black Season 3 release is yet to be confirmed. The science-fiction show's second season ended on June 21.

Season 3 of Orphan Black will pick up from where it left off in Season 2 wherein Tatiana's character Sarah Manning, one of the many clones, found out that Castor Corp is building a clone army made out of a male subject. That subject is where Ari Millen's character Mark came from.

Aside from new male clones, another thing to feel excited about in Orphan Black Season release is the possible fallout between the sister clones.

"Season three plunges the clone sisterhood into unexpected territory with the realization that they're not alone. Just when they thought they knew their enemies and allies, season three reveals our clones are more vulnerable than ever before," Orphan Black press release said.
