According to reports, CBS is close to finding its main star. Claire Holt of hit CW Network series Vampire Diaries is among those being considered to play Supergirl. The entertainment website wrote:
"Look, up in the sky! It's ... Claire Holt?
Holt, who plays Rebekah on the CW's "The Vampire Diaries" and its offshoot "The Originals," is among those testing for the lead role in CBS's upcoming comic-book adaptation "Supergirl," an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap.
The one-hour drama project, which has received a series commitment from CBS, will follow the exploits of Kara Zor-El. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she's been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin (also known as Superman). But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be."
Supergirl TV series release date, main cast, is yet to be discussed. There are a lot of things that fans should feel excited about but none could be more exciting with this one form Greg Berlanti who will be the shows writer and executive producer. According to Berlanti, who is also working for the CW Network's Arrow and The Flash, there is a possibility Supergirl will crossover to the worlds of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).
"Later in the afternoon at his other office on the Warner Bros. lot, Berlanti meets with fellow producer Ali Adler and Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood to go over looks for their upcoming revamp of Supergirl. The show will follow 24-year-old Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, and with a twist that that could melt fanboy brains, Berlanti says it's possible this Supergirl could enter the worlds of Arrow and The Flash."
