Johnny Rockets announced that the South American nation of Brazil will be the home of 30 new stores of the fast-food franchise, as part of an agreement with restaurant tycoon Antonio Augusto Ribeiro de Souza.
This will be in addition to the chains of Johnny Rockets stores that will open in Peru and Ecuador, as well as Chile and the Dominican Republic, said Johnny Rockets in a press release issued on Tuesday.
President of Johnny Rockets International Division, Steve Devine, stated for the press release, "It is our goal to open restaurants in active, thriving communities throughout South America. We believe there are many centers and venues that are conducive to the fun and excitement Johnny Rockets brings. In fact, all of the ingredients for a successful partnership are already present in Brazil. We have the fifth most populated country, plus an insatiable taste for American hamburgers - and it's all seasoned with a franchisee that has really solid industry experience."
The first Johnny Rockets stores will be open by late 2012 or early 2013 in the city of Sao Paulo, noted the press release, as Augusto planned to expand his franchise soon after.
"In Brazil, as in other South American countries, family comes first," Augusto was quoted as stating for the press release. "There's nothing better than spending quality time over lunch or dinner, and Johnny Rockets offers a unique way for parents and children to enjoy a delicious meal - and have fun at the same time. We're committed to offering our Guests a special all-American dining experience that will bring a smile to their faces - and have them coming back for more!"
In addition to offering fast food like burgers and American Fries, Johnny Rockets' unique restaurant experience includes dancing servers, an option kitchen, and music hits from the last 80 years, noted the press release. Brazil's menu will include regional flood like the Picanha Hamburger, new salad choices, and a special dessert item, listed the press release.
"With more than 205 million residents - nearly 20 million in Sao Paulo alone - Brazil represents a tremendous audience for Johnny Rockets," Devine continued for the press release. "As the world's seventh largest economy in terms of GDP, Brazil boasts a robust economy, high consumer confidence and a palate primed for great-tasting American food. The timing couldn't be better for us to enter this growth market with our unique all-American dining experience."
