Beginning July 5, Buffets, Inc. and its subsidiary restaurant franchises will be offering discounts and free meals to armed service members throughout the United States as part of their Military Appreciation Program.

Among those to participate from Buffets' company include their brands Ryan's, Country Buffet, HomeTown Buffet, Old Country Buffet, Fire Mountain, and Granny's Buffet, which will give a special 15 percent discount to active or reserve armed forces and military personnel, said a press release issued by Buffets, Inc. on Thursday. The offer will be good for an entire year, and soldiers celebrating their birthdays will receive a free meal, or 100 percent discount, at any participating restaurant.

"Buffets knows that it takes very special men and women to serve our country and equally special families to support them during their time of service," Alice Crowder, Vice President of Marketing for Buffets, stated for the press release. "We are proud to recognize soldiers in our communities with this exclusive offer and to let them know that they are in our hearts whether they are at home or abroad."

Additionally, Buffets announced their partnership with the Armed Services YMCA, to provide programs and services to military personnel and their families, noted the press release, where they will support the YMCA with financial and in-kind contributions in the coming year.

The first fundraising initiative from Buffets to sponsor the ASYMCA includes a partnership with country music band Montgomery Gentry, where the corporation will offer the band's new album, "Rebels On the Run," at all of their restaurants throughout the United States for a discount price of $8.99 beginning July 5, said the press release. The proceeds made from the CD sales will go to benefit ASYMCA for Operation Outdoors, a camp program for children of military personnel who have been deployed.

"The ASYMCA is incredibly honored to partner with Buffets," Brittany Catton, Director of Marketing for the ASYMCA, was quoted as stating for the press release. "Our organization relies heavily on the generosity and support of corporate sponsors to help provide critical programs and services for military families."
