The American Horror Story: Freak Show casts are meant to amaze and shock its audiences. On screen, the cast is getting the job done. They freak the hell out of the show's followers. The special actors are credited for their performances but off screen, some of the cast members of the freak show want to be treated normal, like Jyoti Amge's Ma Petite.
Jyoti Amge's, who is officially the world's smallest woman according to the Guinness World Records, joined the FX horror anthology on August this year. She has appeared many times in the showand received great reviews. She works in the circus as Elsa's manicurist and cuddle toy. She was not treated on those scenes like a baby despite her size. For Amge, Mahadevi Patel in real life, he wants to be treated in the same way when off the screen.
"When people see me on TV, they become very happy because they don't have to interact with me," Jyoti said through a Hindi translator as reported by ET Online.
"When they start interacting with me they ask me questions like I'm a baby or treat me like I'm a baby and hold me like I'm a baby, and that's what they do wrong, really."
The American Horror Story: Freak Show cast also said that she is happy working in the series.
"In American Horror Story she has to act but it's not normal acting," said her translator. "She has to get in cages and boxes and other things and pumpkins and that's the most fun part about working in this show and she doesn't know what's about to happen from episode to episode."
Although her nick name in the American Horror Story Freak Show is totally the opposite of what she is, Jyoti Amge says she is not offended.
"She didn't have any reservations because even though the name of the show is Freak Show nobody is a freak here," said Jyoti's translator.
