Sakar International announced that they teamed up with Sony Pictures to unveil a new line of products for the upcoming release of their comic-book adaptation "The Amazing Spider-Man."
The 36 "Spider-Man" products, including electronics equipment, will be available at Toys "R" Us throughout the United States. Among the products, said a press release issued by Sakar International on Thursday, will be Apple iPhone, iPod, iPad and laptop cases, high-definition ear buds, DJ-style headphones, digital music players, digital cameras, and camcorders. "Spider-Man" inspired merchandise like night-vision binoculars, web lasers, pen launchers, video spy cameras, adventure kits, and listening devices, listed the press release, will be available at Toys "R" Us for suggested retail prices of $9.99 to $14.99.
"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Marvel to give Spider-Man fans these amazing new accessories and devices to show off their Spidey style and create their own incredible Super Hero action adventures just like in the movie," Sakar Vice President Liza Abrams was quoted as stating for the press release.
The newly booted "Spider-Man" series' first installment "The Amazing Spider-Man," will be released on Tuesday, July 3 in 3D, Real D, and IMAX 3D all around the world, and stars Andrew Garfield in the titular role. Along with Garfield are Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Martin Sheen, and Sally Fields, noted the press release. The Sony Pictures Entertainment and Columbia Pictures-presented film, directed by Marc Webb, was rated PG-13 by the MPAA for strong violence, and was based on the comic books by renowned author Stan Lee.
Sakar International, since it opened in 1977, has been designing and manufacturing electronic equipment for consumers worldwide, including the Vivitar brand, said the press release. Their products range from camcorders and digital cameras, computer accessories, GPS and gaming accessories, binoculars, clock radios, gift and toy electronics, and MP3 players, listed the press release.
