| By

Blast 825° announced that the "Sophisticat" pizza is the winner of the People's Choice award during grand opening event of the Roseville restaurant. Placer SPCA, one of the participating organizations in Roseville Blast 825°, "crustomized" the winning pizza for the National Pizza Month.

Placer SPCA sold over 115 "Sophisticat" pizzas from Sept. 24 to Oct. 2. The total sales of $650 were raised, which Blast 825° matched. A total of $1,300 will be donated to the organization.

Chief Executive Officer of the Placer SPCA, Leilani Fratis, said, "We are thrilled that Blast 825° customers enjoyed our signature creation."

"We participate in multiple fundraisers throughout the year, but this one had a unique twist - we had the freedom to create the pizza ourselves, which was fun for our team. This generous donation will help us continue to provide our outstanding services to people and exceptional care for the homeless and abandoned companion animals here in Placer County," said Fratis.

Roseville Blast 825° features custom made pizza during its grand opening with the participation of four local charities. The local representatives had over 40 toppings, four sauces and three hand-made dough to choose from to create a pizza to represent their organizations.

CEO of Milano Restaurants, parent company of Blast 825°, John Fernandi, said, "We are happy to offer the Placer SPCA our support through this fun, creative, hands on contest."

"Our customers rely on Blast 825° for quick fired, unique and delicious menu options. We are proud to say also that local, non-profit organizations can also rely on us. You'll be seeing more community involvement like this as we expand the exciting Blast 825° brand in California, Nevada, Arizona and Texas through our franchising model," said Fernandi.

The Placer SPCA has been reuniting lost pets and owners for the past 40 years. Now, they are considered to be one of the largest and extensive animal welfare provider in Placer County. The Placer SPCA provides shelter to an estimate of 4,000 homeless animals yearly in their three locations.
