Krispy Kreme Locations: Donut Franchise Set to Open First Shops in India

Krispy Kreme announced today that they made an agreement with Citymax Hotels Pvt. Ltd. to start up the first franchise bases for the donut brand in the south and west regions of India within the next five years.

The donut retailer collaborated with Citymax Hotels Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Dubai-based Landmark Group, which is one of the largest retailers in India and the Middle East, for the development and creation of 80 stores in the Indian regions by 2017, said the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation in a press release issued on Wednesday.

"We are excited and pleased to introduce Indian consumers to Krispy Kreme - the brand that pioneers a one-of-a-kind experience in premium-quality doughnuts and coffee," Vishal Sawhney, President of Citymax Hotels Pvt. Ltd, was quoted as saying for the press release.

"The addition of Krispy Kreme to our current portfolio of brands allows us to give customers even more choice and variety. Our strong existing footprint and understanding of consumer dining habits, combined with the unique strengths of the Krispy Kreme brand, will help us to popularize Krispy Kreme doughnuts among India's brand savvy customers," Sawhney said.

Krispy Kreme stores are already located in 21 countries around the world, in over 690 franchise shops in the nations of Australia, Bahrain, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Republic of Korea, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States, listed the press release. India and its new 80 branches will make it the 22nd nation to join the Krispy Kreme corporation.
