Walmart teamed up with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment to promote the July release of "The Amazing Spider-Man," with exclusive new scenes from the film and accompanying merchandise at stores across the country.
Throughout the month of June, Walmart will debut never-before-scene footage from "The Amazing Spider-Man," out on the Fourth of July weekend and starring Andrew Garfield as the titular superhero, and Emma Stone. Walmart stores in the U.S. will show new clips from the film on its in-store broadcast network at 12:01 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. local time on June 15 and June 16, listed a press release issued by Walmart on Thursday.
"We're always looking for ways to bring innovative technology, exclusive content and interactive events to our customers," Seong Ohm, senior vice president and general merchandise manager for entertainment, Walmart U.S, stated for the press release. "Movie fans can rest assured that Walmart will have the broadest assortment of the Super Hero products they want - from special-edition movie releases to toys, food and apparel - all at an amazing low price."
On June 15th, Spider-Man fans and Walmart shoppers can purchase "The Amazing Spider-Man" comic book, which will also come with another new sneak peek from the movie, for the price of $2.96, said the press release. The clip will give the first look at the Activision Spider-Man video game, as well as an extra augmented reality activation when consumers use the "Web-slinger" app via Apple iTunes, noted the press release.
To further promote the release of "The Amazing Spider-Man," about 1,000 "Secrets Unmasked" trucks will stop at Walmarts across the country, where fans and consumers can get an advanced demo of the "The Amazing Spider-Man" video game, as well as the Spider-Man Bonkazonks from Hasbro, said the press release. The tour schedule can be found on the Walmart's Spider-Man sub-website.
Walmart will also be selling other Spider-Man tie-in products, such as T-shirts, bed comforters, action figures and masks, and the new Blu-ray with Ultraviolet sets of the Spider-Man series starring Tobey Maguire: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3, listed the press release.

"With the scope of Walmart's North American distribution network, Sony Pictures is assured of having the broadest consumer reach on Blu-ray and in the digital arena."
