Milky Way will launch its new Chocolate Ice Cream Bars this week via a fully-loaded, special edition Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream Truck set to drive across the country in June to promote the new product, and hand out free samples to ice cream lovers.
On hand to give out the new Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream bars will be actor Kunal Nayyar, one of the stars of CBS's Emmy-award-winning and hit comedy series, "The Big Bang Theory," in which he portrays an astrophysicist, said a press release issued by Mars Chocolate North America, Milky Way's parent company, on Thursday. Nayyar was chosen because of the character he portrays and how it ties to the Milky Way's "out-of-this-world" campaign to promote the new ice cream bar.
"We're so excited to launch the new, out-of-this-world MILKY WAY® Chocolate Ice Cream Bars this summer," Craig Hall, General Manager, Mars Chocolate North America, stated for the press release. "And, the ice cream truck tour will help us bring the popular MILKY WAY® taste along with our delicious chocolate ice cream to fans across the U.S.!"
Nayyar will not only help hand out the new ice cream bars, but will unveil the Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream Truck on Friday, June 8th at 2:00pm PST at the Exposition Park near the California Science Center in Los Angeles, said the press release. Consumers who visit the ice cream truck will get free samples of the new Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream bars, as well as be able to participate in other activities.
The Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream Truck will make two more stops after its inaugural run in Los Angeles: it will stop at the Space Center Houston in Texas on June 18th, and the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, Ill., on June 22nd, listed the press release.
The new Milky Way Chocolate Ice Cream bars mare made with chocolate ice cream, a layer of creamy caramel, which are both covered with an outer layer of milk chocolate. They can be found in grocery stores and supermarkets across the country, said the press release.
