Nonprofit organization and company Brides Against Breast Cancer announced on Tuesday that they opened a new retail store in the Sarasota, Fla., area, as well as the full list of dates for their "Nationwide Tour of Gowns" across the country throughout 2012.
Sales made from dresses and wedding accessories purchased at any of the Brides Against Breast Cancer stores go to fund the research and education towards fighting breast cancer, the organization said in a press release issued on Tuesday. The new store in Florida spans 3,500 square feet and will offer over 1,000 wedding gowns ranging from size 0-30 at prices going from $100 to $3000, said the press release.
"We have a dress to fit everyone's budget," Amy Paulishak, vice president of Brides Against Breast Cancer, stated for the press release. "For women getting married on the beach we have great lightweight options. We also have reception dresses, bridesmaid dresses and mother of-the-bride gowns in every shape and size, along with accessories like tiaras and veils."
The National Tour of Gowns will continue at Reno, NV., on June 8 - 9, then journey through Denver, Tulsa, Austin, San Antonio, Chicago, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Houston, Memphis, Sarasota, Raleigh, Washington, D.C., and finally end in Brandon, Fla., on November 2 - 3, 2012, listed the press release. Those set to attend will be given free information about programs and services that can help them with loved ones suffering through breast cancer. The show itself in general features over 1,000 new or "gently-worn," said the press release, designer wedding gowns.
"Brides Against Breast Cancer's mission complements and supports our wide-ranging services and programs," Carl Ritter, CEO, Center for Building Hope (CBH), was quoted as stating for the press release.
Ritter's Center for Building Hope recently acquired Brides Against Breast Cancer and moved the company headquarters to Sarasota, Fla., adding to the administrative headquarters and bridal dress preparation center which currently resides in Lakewood Ranch.
"We welcome the tax-deductible donations of bridal gowns and accessories," added Paulishak. "New gowns are arriving daily and we welcome every contribution."
