Stremicks Heritage Foods joined with Major League Baseball team the Los Angeles Angels for their 2012 season to promote the "Safe at Home" domestic violence campaign.
Stremicks Heritage Foods, the Angels, and the Olive Crest organization, which come to the aid of people suffering from abuse, neglect, or abandonment, came together this baseball season to raise funds to support those in dire and violent-based situations at home. The initiative for the campaign will be that for every run scored by the L.A. Angels during the 2012 season, Stremicks Heritage Organic Milk will donate $50 towards the support of children at Olive Crest, said a press release issued by the food company.
"Stremicks Heritage Food is a family company that is committed to raising awareness and money for issues that are relevant to the communities it serves," Lou Stremick, President and CEO of Stremicks Heritage Organic Milk, stated for the press release. "We recognize the importance of family and that healthy lifestyles start at home with proper nutrition, care and nurturing. That's why we are proud to stand with Angels Baseball and Olive Crest to strike out child abuse."
Baseball fans can also assist in the cause, where every time they text HOME to 80888, $5 will be donated to Olive Crest, said the press release. For every purchase of Stremick Heritage Organic Milk, in the 96 oz. size, at Von's across the country during the month of June, 50 cents will be donated to Olive Crest.
"We frequently see kids who are malnourished - both in mind and body - as a result of their abuse and neglect. The Safe at Home partnership allows us to extend programming that reflects Olive Crest's conviction that strengthening the family is one of the most powerful ways to heal children," Donald Verleur, Chief Executive Officer of Olive Crest, noted for the press release.
"Because we often encounter kids and families who need to learn what nutrition is and how to incorporate it into their lives, partnering with Stremicks Heritage Organic Milk - a company centered on nutrition, healthy living and family values - and Angels Baseball - which has been active in the community throughout their 50 years playing America's favorite pastime- makes complete sense."
