The 30th anniversary of the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colo., will see the return of its major sponsor, as KitchenAid announced that it will return to headline the event that caters to food and wine lovers each year.
Specially autographed sets of KitchenAid stand mixers, signed by celebrity chefs set to attend the festivities, will be offered once again for auction, as part of the Cook for the Cure foundation, noted KitchenAid in a press release issued Monday. The three-day food and wine event will help benefit the cause towards finding a cure for breast cancer.
"Like our iconic KitchenAid stand mixer that home and professional cooks have relied on for almost a century, the Classic is likely to be on the wish list for anyone passionate about food and cooking," Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid, noted for the press release. "We're looking forward to celebrating this milestone and sharing our latest collection of high-performance appliances with an audience of enthusiastic cooks."
The Cook for the Cure charity comes from a collaboration between KitchenAid and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and has in its 11 years of partnership raised over $8 million towards cancer research. KitchenAid itself will donate at least $450,000 towards the Susan G. Komen this year, partly through celebrity chef auctions and grass roots effort, said the press release.
In addition to setting up funding for Cook for the Cure, KitchenAid will have a mobile application that will assist guests at the Food & Wine Classic to further enjoy their experience at the event. The program list for the convention, interactive maps, recipes, and biographies of chefs and speakers will be available through the app, listed the press release. A 3D rendering of a KitchenAid kitchen with clickable appliances, information on their products, and special offers for their goods will be featured in the app, said the press release.
"Beyond offering cooks with appliances they love to use, we're excited to provide engaging content that we hope will further inspire home cooks," Robinson added for the press release.
