Modell's announced that its website, Modell.com, will be selling their goods through the Shopatron eCommerce system, to provide customers with their favorite sportswear brands, apparel, and goods.
Shopatron, according to a press release issued by Modell's Sporting Goods on Wednesday, will manage Modells.com's consumers' orders to deliver licensed sports goods just in time for the NBA and NHL playoffs this season, and will continue to add more brand products, including athletic footwear, active apparel and other sporting goods to ensure that everything sold at stores will be available online. Modells.com will provide goods for Major League Baseball, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, and National Football League apparel and goods.
"The ability to integrate our local retail stores with our online store is an invaluable asset," Mitchell Modell, CEO of Modell's Sporting Goods, stated for the press release. "Shopatron allows us to better serve our customers with the convenience and selection they've grown to expect from Modell's.
Shopatron, according to the press release, will allow for efficiently inventory management and the full capabilities for in-store order pickup for customers who purchase goods from Modell.com, from any of its 150 locations in the United States. The eCommerce company also noted that it will provide customer services in regards to managing payment processing, fraud protection, and order support as a complete eCommerce package for Modells.com, as stated in the press release.
"Adding a premier retail brand like Modell's further confirms the advantages of our retail-integrated solution for multi-channel retailers," Brian Clausen, SVP of Sales for Shopatron, was quoted as saying for the press release. "Multi-channel retailers looking to sell online can integrate their stores either by shipping from a store or by sending customers into the shop for in-store pickup. Why wouldn't Modell's want to use the great asset they have in local stores to make their eCommerce experience even better?"
