Milk-Bone Trail Mix Dog Snacks & Sara Rue Promote National Trails Day

| By

Milk-Bone Trail Mix dog snacks and actress Sara Rue teamed up to promote this weekend's National Trails Day, as a means to get dog owners and their pets active and walking about for a healthier lifestyle.

National Trails Day will fall on Saturday, June 2, where the American Hiking Society, along with Milk-Bone Trail Mix, chose a list of dog-friendly hiking trails where pet owners and their pets could walk, hike, jog, run, or further their fitness regime to become more active. Hundreds of local market walks and hikes across the country will take place to honor the 20th annual National Trails Day, according to a press release issued by Del Monte Foods, Milk-Bone's parent company. A full list of trails available for pets and their owners on which to walk, as well as dog-friendly activities, on National Trails Day, could be found on Milk-Bone's official website.

"Living a healthy lifestyle is a huge passion of mine, along with of course, my two dogs," Rue said for the press release. "Being active with your dog is not only good for the pet parent; it's beneficial for the pet's well-being. Incorporating your dog into your workout routine is a great way to provide natural encouragement while spending quality time with your pet."

Milk-Bone, who created the first widely available trail mix snacks for dogs to keep them more active and nourished, according to the press release, will be hosting Trail Mix samplings during National Trails Day throughout the United States.

"Milk-Bone® is proud to introduce this first-of-its-kind product of Milk-Bone® Trail Mix," Melinda Winter, Milk-Bone senior brand manager, was quoted as stating for the press release. "We at Milk-Bone® sincerely believe that dogs are a part of our family and hope that pet parents and their dogs will hit the trails in celebration of National Trails Day® on June 2."

Milk-Bone's Trail Mix contains a mixture of oven-baked biscuits with rolled oats, and chewy treats made from beef and sweet potatoes. The bag's contents, as listed in the press release, have the classic trail mix look and feel.
