Capri Sun announced that they launched the new Capri Sun Super V, a new drink containing fruits and vegetables that will come in the Capri Sun-branded pouch-with-straw, as a means to market a healthier drink that will cater to both children and parents alike.
The new six-ounce-packaged drink, according to a press release issued by Capri Sun on Tuesday, will contain three-quarters fruit juice and one-quarter vegetable juice, and come in three fruity flavors - fruit punch, berry, and apple. Kraft Foods, the company behind Capri Sun, also noted that the new Super V drink would provide 10 percent of the daily fiber requirement, and nutrition, though the corporation appeared more adamant on labeling the new drink as "kid cool" and a secret weapon for mothers, as to get their children to drink healthier. The new drinks will be sold beginning May 2012 in packages of 10 with a suggested retail price of $3.48.
"We heard from moms that they were constantly in search of fun and delicious ways to get their kids to eat fruits and vegetables," Wilfred de Guzman, Brand Manager, Capri Sun, said for the press release. "With no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and a good source of antioxidant vitamins A, C and E, Super V comes to the rescue."
This is the latest in Capri Sun brands that contain vitamins and minerals. Four other lines of Capri Sun drinks are available for the generic public, stated the press release, including the original Capri Sun drink, with a reported 25 percent less sugar than other leading regular juice drinks, as well as a good source of Vitamin E.
Other health-conscious Capri Sun brands out now, according to Kraft's press release, are: the Capri Sun 100% Juice drink, which Kraft stated contained 100 percent juice and 1-1/2 servings of fruit, according to the United States Dietary Guidelines; and the Capri Sun Sunrise, with calcium and 100 percent daily value of Vitamin C.
