TCBY announced on Wednesday that their frozen yogurt service will now become mobile - a new frozen yogurt truck began its run in North Carolina earlier this month, and drove through various towns throughout the state and adjacent South Carolina.
The truck is part of a new marketing strategy to cater to consumers that want more accessibility to the low-fat frozen yogurt TCBY provides, and expand its mobile franchise, according to a press release issued by the company, a subsidiary of Mrs. Fields Famous Brands.
The hot-pink and white painted truck, as featured on the vehicle's official Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/tcby.truck, made its grand debut at the Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC on May 5th, where, according to the social media site, a part of the proceeds would go to benefit the local Boy Scouts Troop 256. The Facebook page will chronicle the adventures of the TCBY truck as it ventures through towns in the southern United States throughout the next months.
"Our new mobile platform exemplifies TCBY's forward-thinking approach in growing the brand and offering a new way to provide our perfected product to consumers," Tim Casey, CEO of TCBY, was quoted as saying for the press release. "Our new frozen yogurt truck, which is designed to emulate our innovative brand look and feel, broadens our customer reach and strengthens our social media positioning."
The truck will contain many of TCBY's signature low-fat, fat-free, and no-sugar frozen yogurts, as well as non-dairy and fat-free sorbets in an assortment of flavors, and a wide range of toppings, listed the press release.
Samuel Batt, who currently owns 10 TCBY stores of the 380-plus locations across the U.S., partnered with the company to open and franchise 23 self-service locations, according to the press release, within the next three years in North Carolina and South Carolina. Batt also piloted TCBY's first self-serve store.
"The debut of the TCBY truck shows our continued commitment to meeting customer demands for greater accessibility of TCBY's healthy frozen yogurt products," Batt said. "Now more than ever, TCBY permeates the North and South Carolina market and remains the unparalleled leader in frozen yogurt. I am a firm believer in TCBY's product, brand and outlook for the future."
