Constantine TV Series Spoiler Update: Charles Halford's Chas Chandler To Get His Own Episode? Executive Producers Daniel Cerone Answer The Question

| By

Constantine TV series continue to introduce new cast. However, aside from Matt Ryan's John Constantine, there's another one that fans want to see more in each episode, Constantine's oldest friend Chas Handler. In the first episode, viewers saw Chandler, played by True Detective alum Charles Halford, rise from the dead after being struck by a live electrical wire in the chest. Chas Handler appear as an interesting character whose story must also be told. Question is, does the show have any bigger plans for him?

According to a report by K Site TV, Constantine TV series executive producer David Goyer and Daniel Cerone have great plans for Charles Halford's character. Fans will see more of Chas Chandler in the show. That's is probably the best Constantine TV series spoiler they will ever receive.

"Chas is definitely the strong, silent type, very laconic kind of character we wanted to roll out slowly. I know there's been a couple of issues [of Hellblazer] where they dig in his back story, but there's not a lot there. We've really enjoyed opening [Chas] up. We will open him up deeper in Episode 10," Cerone said during a recent press call.

Although a back story for Chas Chandler was promised in Constantine TV series, there's one thing that fans might not like. The moment that Chandler came back to the life in the first episode had fans thinking if he is immortal. As per Cerone, he is not. Chas Handler will die some time in the show. It is just not clear when.

"In the pilot episode, you see that Chas comes back to life. For some reason, people started translating that to the idea that he's immortal. We promise you he is not immortal. There's a very good reason that he's coming back to life, and the only spoiler I will give is that, you know, those lives are not infinite," Cerone said of John Constantine's right hand man.

"And we do have an episode that involves flashbacks where we basically tell that story and we get to know more about Chas, we can meet Renee [his ex-wife] and his daughter, and we kind of dig into that story and figure out what makes Chas tick."
