The last Constantine TV series episode saw the appearance of Papa Midnite played by Michael James Shaw. Fans hailed the new NBC show for giving a nod to one of the most iconic Hellblazer villains around. In the upcoming episodes of Constantine, Matt Ryan's character will meet more characters from DC comics. Mind you, these characters are big in the comics world.
In a spoiler released by Comicbook.com, it is revealed that Doctor Thirteen and Felix Faust are set to appear in upcoming Constantine TV series episodes. CB wrote:
"How deeply will the producers of NBC's Constantine delve into the supernatural side of the DC Universe?
Well, according to producers Daniel Cerone and David Goyer, Doctor Thirteen will appear in upcoming episodes of the series."
Doctor Thirteen was first introduced in Star Spangled Comics #122. He is someone who is described as resistant to magical effects. Dr. 13 works as an investigator who debunked supernatural phenomena as myths and hoaxes, definitely opposite of what Matt Ryan's John Constantine does.
Felix Faust, on the other hand, is a super villain who first appeared in 1962. He is an adversary of the Justice League of America. He met John Constantine in The New 52 release when the supernatural detective group's arrive in the Nanda Parbat Temple.
There's no details yet on when or how Doctor Thirteen and Felix Faust will appear in Constantine TV series. According to Comicbook.com, "there was no immediate word on who will be cast in the role, or that of Felix Faust, a powerful, evil mystic who has been known to menace the Justice League. While Faust had been mentioned back in October as a potential foe for Constantine, Dr. Thirteen had not previously been announced."
While Constantine TV series welcome new characters, Papa Midnite will appear in four more episodes. Jim Corrigan/The Spectre, who will be played by Emmet Scanlan, is also set to make his debut on episode five.
Aside from Matt Ryan, Constantine also stars Angelica Celaya as Zed Martin who was only introduced after the pilot episode, Charles Halford and Harold Perrineau.
