McDonald Offers New Olympic Program

| By

The world's largest fast-food chain is going to 'make children' healthier through
a "Mascotathon" campaign.

Recently, McDonald's has been facing a fresh wave of criticism regarding its involvement in 2012
Summer Olympic Games. By pushing the large-scale promotional apparently the company is to
win more positive comments from the public.

During the Olympic Games, McDonald's will hand out vouchers for free sports sessions as a
powerful marketing strategy to offset the criticism.

"It will take the Olympics out of London and make sure kids can get involved and have some
fun," Jo Webster, McDonald's head of UK marketing told Guardian Co.

On the other hand, after welcoming its new CEO Thompson last month, the company will also
promote Tim Fenton, currently president of its Asia, Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA)
unit, to the post of chief operating officer effective July 1 according to Reuters.

Shares of McDonald's were up 0.55 percent at 97.11on the New York Stock Exchange.
