Ben & Jerry's teams up with Stephen Colbert for the flavor AmeriCone Dream! This favor literally flew off the shelves as Stephen was determined to out-sell Willy Nelson's new flavor, Peach Cobbler. They even had a friendly competition on Stephen's television show. The Colbert Report.
Other new delectable desserts brought to life in ice cream this year were Creme Brulee, Cinnamon Buns, and Banana Split. Not to mention the anniversary flavor of Phish Food, which includes fudge pieces shaped like our friendly bovine buddies. Phish Food celebrates ten years of flavor-dom this year, and in honor of its tenure, tracks from Phish's performance at the Flynn Theater at the flavor's debut are made available for download.
Ben & Jerry's also shows its serious side in taking a stance against the FDA's consideration of allowing cloned meat and dairy into the food supply. With a march on Washington, hundreds of demonstrators dressed in cow costumes convene on the Capital lawn to strongly urge the FDA to wait until more research is done before they "send in the clones".
