Penny Warner, a local Texas Nurse who established The Lice Place, the largest lice removal company in the country is helping out her fellow Texans go into business by handing out the franchise in Texas to one lucky local.
Warner started The Lice Place single handedly back in 2006. Now, it has flourished to multiple locations including Houston, Austin, Dallas, Katy, Birmingham, Alabama and The Woodlands in Texas.
Warner revealed her story when she was just starting up the business, and wanted to share her passion to next generation of entrepreneurs who want to have their own business.
Warner will give away the company's franchise in The Woodlands, Texas, together with the equipment, furniture, fixtures, and waiving the franchise fee. She will choose a winner from an interview and application process based on several factors like financial capability.
"When I started The Lice Place, there were a lot of naysayers," Warner said.
"People told me that nobody would pay for professional lice treatment. I want to eliminate all those barriers for some passionate entrepreneur who is burning to help customers, create jobs and be part of this community. It's our way of giving back," Warner added.
Lice infestation is a common problem in schools throughout the United States and, as many parents know, removal can be difficult. The Lice Place uses the Warner Method, which combines combing with manual removal and shuns harsh chemicals or pesticides. Customers are treated in private rooms and all treatments are finished on site utilizing only eco-friendly and natural products. All treatments are then guaranteed for 30 days.
"The reason that we have been successful is that we offer professional treatment and we solve a problem completely for our customers," Warner said.
"We're looking for an entrepreneur in The Woodlands who wants to continue that tradition," she added.
