Popeyes Chief Executive Officer Cheryl Bachelder has produced five straight years of same-store sales growth in the United States, Forbes reports, citing the company's revenue and location expansion.
The fast food chain is expected to open 130 new store locations this year after adding 126 locations in Fiscal Year 2013.
"Popeyes was going to go away," Piper Jaffray analyst Nicole Miller Regan told Forbes in a review of the company..
"But if you look today, it's not even in recovery anymore. It's all about growth-and that stems from Cheryl coming in and righting the ship."
Bachelder joined Popeyes several years ago as the company was experiencing a decline in it revenue and growth-faulty deals with competitor Church's Chicken and its acquisition of smaller restaurant chains are said to have contributed to this.
However, the since Bachelder joined the organization, the company has fared well compared to other fast food franchises that have been experiencing decline, like McDonald's and Taco Bell.
Former entrepreneur Al Copeland founded Popeyes in Louisiana in 1972.
