Quiznos seeks expansion in international markets

| By

Quiznos, one of the United States' most well-known sandwich franchises, is looking focus its development plans on the international market.

Despite the company's loss of revenue in the United States, officials claim its opportunities for business abroad seem favorable.

"We have recently seen the demand for U.S. restaurant brands like ours increase exponentially in several international markets," Kenneth Cutshaw, president of the international arm of Quiznos, wrote in an e-mail, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.

Cutshaw added that an international push would also bring competition among other sandwich fast food chains that "deliver an American experience."

At its zenith, Quiznos held over 5,000 restaurant franchises across the United States-the company now has less than half of that amount in the country. However, Quiznos is eyeing the creation of over 1,000 locations in China in the decade to follow.

The restaurant's international push is primarily focused on the Middle East and Asia, Bloomberg Businessweek also reports.

Quiznos was founded in 1981 in Denver, Colorado.
