In terms of battery, the Z3 Compact has 17 to 18 hours of battery life even with heavy use. In comparison, when pushed hard, the Alpha can manage only around 12-13 hours.
With regards to features of the phone, Z3 Compact has an amazing feature - it is waterproof. Then there is the matter of storage. The Alpha comes with 32GB internal storage but no support for the microSD card while the Z3 has 16Gb internal storage but supports microSD card.
