Tim Hortons, one of the leading and well-known Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) in the industry, shared smiles with its annual "Smile Cookie" campaign. Tim Hortons, the largest publicly-traded restaurant chain in North America and Canada launched its annual "Smile Cookie" campaign Sept. 15 to Sept. 21.
The freshly baked Smile Cookies comes in a delectable chocolate chunk variety and purchased for $1 at participating branches.
"Once again Tim Hortons generous guests and restaurant owners came together and showed just how powerful a smile can be," said David McMullen, Vice President Marketing, Canada.
"Year after year, it's amazing how the Smile Cookie campaign continues to grow, raising the much needed funds to support local communities across Canada," McMullen added.
100 percent of the proceeds generated from the week-long event will be donated to local community charities, hospitals and programs.
"The impact of the purchase of each 'Smile Cookie' is tremendous. At Tim Hortons, we are fortunate to have very loyal guests and with their support, along with the generosity of our restaurant owners, the campaign becomes larger and larger every year allowing us to support hundreds of deserving charities and initiatives. We are grateful to have this opportunity," as quoted by David McMullen, Vice president of Marketing at Tim Hortons.
The Smile Cookie campaign started in 1996 as a fundraising event for the Hamilton Children's Hospital in Ontario, Canada.
What began as a way to raise funds for the hospital has bloomed into a yearly tradition for Tim Hortons restaurants all over North America.
More than $5 million was produced from the Smile Cookie campaign in Canada and the U.S. back in 2013.
The restaurant is able to help more than 500 local charities every year through the Smile Cookie campaign.
Tim Hortons' menu includes hot and cold specialty drinks (including lattes, cappuccinos and espresso shots), premium coffee, specialty teas and fruit smoothies, fresh baked goods, wraps, soups, prepared foods, grilled Panini and classic sandwiches, and other food products.
