Five Guys Burgers and Fries is set to expand into the South Dakotan city of Sioux Falls, marking one of the only store locations in the region.
The national franchise purchased part of a building that formerly belonged to the Extreme Auto repair shop.
"It's going very well for them. They're very pleased with it," Five Guys franchisee representative Scott Blount said, according to the Argus Leader.
"We've gutted the inside and are making the necessary modifications, but the building exterior is not going to change too dramatically."
The specific sotre location is expected to open in early 2015, since the new franchisees are still in the process of consolidating space and equipment for the restaurant.
In recent years, Five Guys has offered longtime burger and fry restaurants McDonald's and Burger King increased competition with its menu options.
The company is based in Lorton, Virginia.
