"The Evil Within" has finally been released, much to the pleasure of those who have been waiting for such a long time for the game that has been directed by none other than the "Resident Evil" maker, Shinji Mikami, and developed by Tango Gameworks. Those who got to play the title right away on their PCs had one common concern though: they had to deal with black bars on their screens, something that almost all people out there are annoyed with.
Fortunately, even if "The Evil Within" has just been made available for a couple of weeks, a resolution to this problem has already been released. According to Gamespot, Bethesda has just rolled out a patch for the game's PC version. The patch enables gamers to disable the letterbox visual layout, which is basically the reason why there are black bars on the screen. In other words, gamers no longer have to be concerned with the black bars that they see and can see the game in its entirety. In addition, this update allows players to switch from the 30 FPS cap to the 60 FPS cap version.
In other news, VG247 has reported that, within just a short period of time after "The Evil Within" has been released, all of the platforms or console versions of the game have taken top ranks on the Top 20 list of Media Create. The Sony PlayStation 3 version of the game came in third on the list, having sold a total of 59,388 units from the time the list was created. Fourth on the list was the version for the Sony PlayStation 4, which sold 59,204 units. On the 13th spot is the Microsoft Xbox One version, having sold 3,233 units. The 17th spot was secured by the Microsoft Xbox 360 version, which was able to sell a total of 2,319 units.
