Burger King has sent "field coaches" to work closely with franchisees around the country in an effort to improve its newest brand initiatives, but several employees have complained about the newest additions.
"He was great at helping us roll out new products and training our managers on how to prepare them, but he didn't have any restaurant experience," former Burger King manager Steve Johnson said, according to Business Insider.
Among the complaints, franchisees have mentioned that several of the coaches do not have adequate age or experience to serve as "field coaches" and advise store locations on improving operations.
Approximately 36 percent of Burger King franchisees rated their coaches' knowledge and capabilities as "good," 35 percent as "poor" and 29 percent as "average," Business Insider also reports.
The system was put in place by 3G Capital, the Brazil-based equity firm that owns the burger franchise.
The company has not mentioned whether it will keep its "field coach" program in place.
