This movie adaptation of the well-known 80's American animated television series will make its debut on the big screen next year. Jem and her sisters will become a huge sensation. But it will be a little different from the 80's. Since social media is a huge thing these past couple of years, it will play a big role on how Jem and her sisters will get their fame.
Scooter Braun, the film's producer is proud about his movie. According to Hollywood Reporter, he was very pleased with the first cut director Jon M. Chu, who directed "GI Joe: Retaliation," showed him. "It's really good. I went in to say, 'OK how good is it?' And I was blown away," Braun said in THR. They have also worked before, with Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never" and "Believe."
People expect characters who are known to be musically talented to be casted as the band. Screenrant said that Aubrey Peeples will be Jerrica Benton and the rest of her Holograms, playing the part of Jem/Jerrica's little sister Kimber will be Stefanie Scott (Disney's A.N.T. Farm), with Aurora Perrineau (Pretty Little Liars) as Shana, and Hayley Kiyoko (The Fosters, Wizards of Waverley Place) rounding out the group.
The movie will revolve around an orphan girl Jerrica Benton and her alter ego Jem, with her sisters on becoming a huge online sensation to global superstars from small town girls. They will embark on a journey across Los Angeles to unlock the final message left by their father.
According to On Location Vacation, the production staff is asking for the fans' insight to be added to the movie. The producers are looking for creativity so that the movie will be made better. The fans are sending poster samples and other designs for the movie.
Fans can expect a lot of great things from this movie. Its released date was announced by Universal Studios and BlumHouse Productions and it will be available on theaters on Oct. 23, 2015.
