International dining restaurant franchise Chilii's has fired a worker after he posted photos of himself shirtless at work on Facebook.
Although Chili's executives did not discuss the incident directly, they did release a statement via USA Today:
"Chili's clearly does not encourage this type of behavior in our restaurants. We maintain very high standards of food quality, safety and cleanliness and took immediate steps to ensure the restaurant continues to follow these requirements," the franchise wrote in a statement, according to the newspaper.
"Additionally, we ended this team member's employment after learning of his conduct."
The employee was accused of posing shirtless in a photo on a table where food is routinely handled.
However, controversy remains over the fact that the company's logo was not displayed in the photo and that he was not representing the organization at the moment the photo was taken.
The company has not directly commented on the issue.
