The 'Fury' Of Brad Pitt And Company Crushes All Competitors

Brad Pitt's movie "Fury" was shown in more than 3,000 movie theaters and earned more than $23.5 Million USD in gross receipts last weekend.

The Hollywood Reporter posted that the "Fury" movie's opening day earnings is probably the highest among World War II films if inflation will not be included. According to the same post, many of the moviegoers were adult males who typically enjoy watching action packed war movies like "Fury."

"Fury" also establishes Brad Pitt's status as a marketable actor. Director David Ayers now finds himself with a blockbuster movie that can enhance his career even further and the three movie producers namely LStar Capital, QED International and Sony had committed $68 Million USD to produced the film.

"Fury" depicts the exploits of five crews operating in a Sherman Tank inside enemy German lines. The movie casts Brad Pitt as Sergeant Don, who is in command of the Sherman Tank. Accompanying him in were Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena and John Bernthal. Also appearing in the movie are Jason Isaacs and Scott Eatwood who plays the role of Sgt. Miles.

Based on the movie synopsis, "Fury" is set in April of 1945 where the Allies are already entering Germany. The five man crew of the Sherman Tank find themselves deep into the enemies' territory with a mission to fulfill. Surrounded by heavily armed enemies, the tank crew must somehow find a way to accomplished their mission and survive. Complicating matter still further, the veteran tank crew will need to put up with a rookie added to their crew.

To prepare for the "Fury" movie, Brad Pitt got help from World War II veteran George Smilanich. He and three other veterans coached Brad Pitt and the other Fury actors with regards to World War II conditions and living the life of a tank crew in the front lines. Smilanich served in the 67th Armored Regiment attached to the Second Armored Division during World War II. He was also present in the Battle of the Bulge.
