'Dawn Of Justice Batman Vs Superman' Update: Wonder Woman’S Origin Will Be Explained; Dc Comics Said Female Superhero Is A Demi-God Like Thor

| By

Comic fans have seen a lot of television series and film reboots about the most famous superheroes of all time. This include Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Captain America and a lot more male leading characters equipped with super powers.

Amid the numerous movies that feature men superheroes, We Got This Covered said that fans have been waiting and asking for a female superhero movie. As a response, DC Comics have hinted that their most famous lady superhuman, Wonder Woman, will have her own movie franchise as well.

The comic company has already released an official sneak peek photo showing the actress Gal Gadot wearing the new Wonder Woman costume. But before her own big screen stint starts, the super-powered woman's history will be first cleared in the upcoming "Dawn of Justice: Batman vs Superman" movie.

Pop Watch reported that according to Charles Roven, DC producer, Wonder Woman is 'a demigod' and her father was the Greek god Zeus. This means that the comic company will use the 'New 52' version of Wonder Woman. New 52 era of comics refers to DC's series of drastic changes to its characters, including Wonder Woman, which was done last September 2011.

DC has not given further information about the extent of Wonder Woman's history in the "Dawn of Justice: Batman vs Superman" movie. But hearing that the female superhero roots will not be the same as her original backstory, some said DC is making her a female version of Thor, Hit Fix reported.

This favored angle of Wonder Woman's history seemed to frustrate the waiting fans. It is because her character is seen beyond a mythological backstory as she is seen as a superhero 'being shaped from the righteous fury of murdered woman'.

In her original '77 story, Diana was a chunk of clay mud made by Hippolyta. Hippolyta was the first woman murdered by a man while she is still pregnant. The soul of her child then transferred to the molded clay and it turned to be the Amazonian hero Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman's original history clearly has more depth compared to the 2011 'New 52' version. "If they're going to turn her into a complex, credible character wprth giving series of films, it's going to take some smart writing."

More likely, DC will not take back its announcement that Wonder Woman is a demigod but it will surely craft some twists and turns that can make her story worthy of a series of film franchise.
