Any time now, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users can pay for their purchases using Apple Pay.
Last September, Apple announced that they will include in the iPhone 6 a new mobile payment system. There are two ways you can use Apple Pay for your purchases. The first is to use Apple Pay on your online purchases. You will need to confirm your identity by sending Apple ID and fingerprint scan.
The second way is to you use Apple Pay in buying items at an actual store. You will need an iPhone 6, the Apple Pay app and most importantly, your phone must have a working Near Field Communication Chip installed.
The Apple Pay app comes with the iOS 8.1 download and after the installation and update, you can now use Apple Pay by simply opening Passbook and typing the necessary information on your credit card.
While the iPhone 6 can use Apple Pay either online or through physical stores. iPad 2 users may content themselves shopping online since their Apple device has no NFC chips installed in its hardware.
There are at least 220,000 stores who will accept Apple Pay in their establishment. Using the iPhone's NFC technology, the cashier will examine the purchases of the customer and if everything is in order, the cashier will send a summary through the customer's iPhone. The shopper will confirm it by having his fingerprint scanned.
Security is assured since neither Apple nor the business establishment will have access to the user's information. Your credit card information will be given a different account number and that number will then be encrypted and saved on your iPhone's chip.
Numerous business establishments who will accept the Apple Pay method includes Bloomingdale's, Chevron, Texaco, Subway, Radio Shack, Nike, McDonalds, Whole Foods and many more.
Credit Card companies will also accept Apple Pay. They include American Express, Master Card and Visa. More than 500 banks have also informed Apple that they will support Apple Pay.
Apple Pay is a whole bold new concept and may even prompt Google to follow a similar mobile payment scheme in Android.
