| By

Uncle Maddio's Pizza Atlanta-area restaurants raised a total of $4,000 to help fund local breast cancer programs in Georgia.

Uncle Maddio's Pizza Restaurants in Atlanta joins in on the 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer held on Oct. 11-12 and pledged to donate 15 percent of their sales from Sept. 7, 2014 as well as $1 from each pink wristband sold to fund local breast cancer programs and research in Georgia.

Together with It's the Journey Inc., founders of the Atlanta 2-Day Walk, Uncle Maddio's pizza called for several restaurant employees, local leaders and guests to show their support to fellow Georgia residents who are facing the challenges of breast cancer.

Sales of the Atlanta stores of Uncle Maddio's Pizza from their paninis, pizzas, salads and beverages were given to the Atlanta 2-Day Walk teams local to each restaurant.

"Atlanta is Uncle Maddio's home base and we have strong connections to the local communities across the state," said Matt Andrew, Uncle Maddio's founder and CEO.

"Many of us in the Uncle Maddio's family have been directly affected by breast cancer, and we are honored to be a part of the fight to end the disease and support breast cancer programs in Georgia," Andrew continued.

Furthermore, the restaurant continued its commitment to support breast cancer awareness month in October by selling pink Uncle Maddio's bracelets from which sales will also be donated to Georgia cancer programs.

Uncle Maddio's pizza is the leading create-your-own pizza joint which currently has 25 locations spanning 13 states in the U.S.

The restaurant expects to expand more stores by adding 10 new stores this year and over 350 stores underway.

Uncle Maddio's Pizza serves fresh pizzas served using fast bake ovens for only $7.

Uncle Maddio's edge among other pizza joints is the company's attractive franchising fees, trained leadership advice, marketing support and a family-friendly atmosphere.
