The first one-day consumer coffee festival CoffeeCon comes to Los Angeles on November 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It will be held in Mack Sennett Studios in Bates Ave, L.A. For an entrance fee of $25, coffee lovers can attend the all-day event. A separate ticket can give them access to George Howell For the Love of Coffee Lab, in which the coffee expert will lead the audience in a taste tour experience.
Event organizer Kevin Sinnott said in a statement posted on the website, "CoffeeCon is the world's first consumer coffee festival, coffee university and coffee meet-up featuring top coffee experts, tasting seminars, hands-on labs and classes in very brewing method."
Sinnott said that he has spent twenty years researching about coffee, and everything he learned thus far will be featured in the event. He personally handpicked the experts to present in the event. Besides the coffee expert George Howell from Boston, other specialists attending the conference includes Alan Alder who invented the Aeropress and Joe Behm, inventor of Bemore Brazen.
In a blog post in the website, Sinnot encouraged coffee lovers to attend the conference. "If you're in Southern California and want to try all the world's and the region's best coffee in one caffeinated day, CoffeeCon is for you. If you want to try all the various coffee brewing methods under one roof, CoffeeCon is for you. If you want to meet other enthusiasts, maybe some you already know online, CoffeeCon is for you," said Sinnott.
Attendess can sample coffee roasts from local and international brands, including rare and expensive Cup of Excellence coffees. Coffee samples will be provided throughout the day, and they can enjoy their free sips by lounging in couches and listening to music by local bands.
There will also be hands-on classes, in which participants can learn the coffee brewing method, serving, and milk texturing and latte art. They will also be taught how to taste coffee like an expert. International methods of preparing coffee will also be featured-from Asia's love for using condensed milk to Italy's variants of espresso.
Prizes ranging from SR700 Coffee Beans Roaster to Porcelain Immersion Coffee Dripper to BraZen 8 cup Coffee Maker will also be given away.
